EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND
Life is unpredictable. For vulnerable families, it takes all efforts to maintain daily life with a place to stay and meals for family, they have only little savings; when a sudden accident occurs, the cost to deal with it is tremendous burden. Like natural disasters, death of main breadwinners and major accidents; without any savings, the vulnerable families cannot even afford the expense for the funeral of a family member, or the expense to repair house, they have nothing left to move on....

With the help of timely financial aid, vulnerable families can be supported urgently. In 2020, the Mustard Seed Mission has provided emergency relief fund to 146 people in Taiwan, and 10,535 people in Asia. The timely "emergency financial aid" assists vulnerable families to maintain the stability of daily life, restore life stabilization sooner, rebuild lives and walk forward.

Lillian R. Dickson's Quotes

it is heartache and heart-balm, all mixed up together. your child and yet not be able to touch her,

“ ... it is heartache and heart-balm, all mixed up together. your child and yet not be able to touch her...”

Because the heat if the summer is past, and the weather is now cool, bright beautiful, we thought it a wonderful chance to take the children back to see their parents who have leprosy. The Church of the Lepers was filled with parents and when we arrived with the Ranch Wagon bulging with tiny tots and two other cars loaded. The children stand on the church platform and their parents admire them and talk to them. It is tragedy and happiness, sweetness and bitterness, longing and fulfillment, it is heartache and heart-balm, all mixed up together. your child and yet not be able to touch her, to have a child and yet see her from afar, to hide a hurt down deep in your heart that someday your child might to own you as parent, -- that is hard! Yet the children are bonny and beauty-free of all disease, spilling over with happiness and good health, abounding in spirits.

Photo Lillian Dickson, the founder of the Mustard Seed Mission, took the children back to the Losheng Sanatorium, so that parents who suffered from Hansen's disease could see their children. The children were too short, they had to be carried on the podium so that the parents could see them clearly.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You will love your neighbor as yourself.
