Family-like care for 500 Taiwan children
50+ Elder Empowerment

Since 2018, as an aging society, Taiwan is having more seniors than young people. The country is highly likely to be "hyper-aged" in 2025, and 1-in-4 people in Taiwan will be elderly. The Mustard Seed Mission launches 50+ Elderly Empowerment project to value seniors’ lives.

In 2020, 50+ Elderly Empowerment project had held 49 sessions of skills training workshops for 428 elderly participants; 32 retirement consulting courses for 685 senior citizens. In 2021, besides skill training, we would train and empower the elderly to be leaders and lecturers, who are able to pass down their wisdom, life stories, and working experiences to the youths.

Through the empowerment and training, we believe the new meaning and value of retirement life can be redefined and created!

Lillian R. Dickson's Quotes

I believe that if there is a need which is a real need then the Lord will meet it if we have faith enough to walk on the water until He meets us there.

“I believe that if there is a need which is a real need then the Lord will meet it...”

Early in the month of December I was driven by the need of the mountain people at the far East Coast who still had no place to go when they had T.B. My trip to America had resulted in drugs and an X-Ray which are on a boat on the way here now, with no real monetary assistance. How could I start Clinics and T.B. Sanatoriums with nothing I thought despairingly, but then I remembered what God had done at the Po-li Christian Clinic for aborigines. There I had been given no substantial gift but had built brick by brick until finally it was done. "Is thy God able?" the mocker taunts me, but I keep steadfastly on. I believe that if there is a need which is a real need then the Lord will meet it if we have faith enough to walk on the water until He meets us there.

Photo After founding the Mustard Seed Mission in 1952, Lillian R. Dickson continued to participate in mountain medical tours and set up more than 10 clinics in Hualien, Taitung, Pingtung, Nantou, Hsinchu and other places. The most famous clinic was Christian Medical Clinic in the Mountains, established in Puli in 1955; it is the predecessor of the present Puli Christian Hospital.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You will love your neighbor as yourself.

Mark 12:30-31
