Lillian R. Dickson's Quotes

let’s go where there is the greater need.

“ let us comfort them as a mother might...”

Sometimes in a home a mother puts all her children to bed, and then in the darkness she hears one crying or perhaps two of them. She goes softly to their bedside and comforts them until they fall asleep. I know that many people think that night is reaching out its long arms towards this Island, that each time we write the curtains are drawn a little nearer. But if we hear people crying in distress in the darkness of before night, let us comfort them as a mother might, for Christ’s sake, until they fall asleep.

Photo: Since 1949, Lillian Dickson, the founder of the Mustard Seed Mission, has brought medical and civilian resources into the Losheng Sanatorium, and has also provided spiritual comfort to patients by showing films, playing music, setting up a library and building the " The Church of the Lepers " in the sanatorium. The picture shows that when Lillian Dickson leaves the Sanatorium every week, the patients sing her favorite hymns to her.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You will love your neighbor as yourself.
