India is located in South Asia. In 2013, according to the United Nations’ "World Population Development -2012 revisions" and the World Bank Report, the total population of India is nearly 1.3 billion and is the second most populous country in the world. The average life expectancy of the people is 66 years. Their monthly income is about $132 USD. The disparity between the rich and the poor is shown by the fact that there are many slums even in the cities. Children under the age of 14 accounted for 1/3 of the total population. Although India has a compulsory education system, most children in poverty are still unable to go to school. These children have to work to help their families’ economic burdens. Moreover, there are many social issues, with malnutrition and the lack of clean water being two examples that causes many poor children to struggle at the edge of survival.

In 2014, The MSM starts the India project to sponsor around 60 children and 2 children's homes and 1 educational center. This project assists them to improve their accommodations, food, drinking water, and subsidize some education funding.

Based on the 2012 UNDP Human Development Reports, Cambodia ranks 139th place out of 184 on the Human Development Index. 40% of Cambodians live in poverty and a large number of families survive on less than one US dollar a day.  The prevalence of long-term poverty, civil wars, and inadequate health care has unnecessarily pushed the life expectancy for Cambodians to 57 years.  Over the course of the Mustard Seed Mission’s (MSM) visits to Cambodia, the MSM realized that electricity and clean, potable water are not available in most provinces.  A large number of families earn less than 85 USD ($2,250 NT) a month; therefore, villagers live in very difficult situations.  With the spirit of MSM’s founder, Mrs. Lillian Dickinson, “where needed, services provided.”  The MSM started the Cambodian project in 2010, and has continued for 4 years.

Although our resources are limited, but we hope to connect many people who have the burden to support for assistance to overseas children in poverty to serve poor children can bring out the influence, so that more children are being blessed.
