On a Sunday morning, the Mustard Seed Youth Home had special guests - a group of Chefs- who taught the teenagers about the western cuisine. They introduced the ingredients, the cooking process and its etiquette, giving the youths a complete tutorial.
Most of the youths rarely get the chance to understand the cooking process and spirit behind the western cuisines. It was a great opportunity for them to improve and refine their cooking skills. From preparation, washing the ingredients, cooking and seasoning...etc., the chefs carefully taught the youths every steps and tips. The guest speakers even demonstrated the proper manners and table decoration, and shared with the meaning and connotation of doing everything carefully. They encourage the youths to do things well and carefully, as a practice to great achievement in future.
The Mustard Seed Youth Home wants to express our gratitude to the caring chefs who travel a long way to Hualian and provided this opportunity for the youths to learn and excel. We hope that the teenagers can make the most out of this experience and give back to the society in the future if possible, demonstrating the idea of "whatever you take from the society; use them for the society" and be thankful for everything in life.
You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You will love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:30-31)
