  To Be A Policeman!

According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Labor (2015) in Taiwan, 58.7% of youth workers have switched their jobs. The main reason for leaving the first job is "worse payment and welfare", it is up to 19.6%, followed by "want to change work location", 18.7%. Then, "no future development and prospects" is up to18.3%. In addition to the unstable employment of young people who have entered the labor market, there are still a group of disadvantaged young people in the community who get less concerned. They have less resource to get into the labor market and are even excluded from the competitive market.

As a result, Agape Children's Home set up a holistic career exploration program every year for helping children to explore different jobs, to know themselves through talent learning and career assessment, and to find their way to the future career. We want to give them enough resources and equal right to discover their future so that they can choose schools or jobs which are suitable for them and benefit their future lives. Therefore, we often invite schools to come to share their information or invite different job executors to share their job experiences with children.

Central Police University's students came to visit Agape Children's Home and introduce Central Police University to children. The students explained the differences between Central Police University and Taiwan Police College, such as admission ways, major subjects, and the working situation in the police system after graduation. Children are way to have more understanding about police's career path if they are interested in the field.

Central Police University's students show how to use the kits and tools which are used in the investigation process, it increased children's interest to participate in it. Students also show the skills of Self Defense to children. Some children were yelling "This is so cool!"

The most important part is to let children know the restrictions of taking the school entrance exam, such as required height, weight, and physical fitness. Some children start to consider to be a police in the future. This activity is good for children to think about their future!

Agape Children's Home provides children training in music, dance, and sports.
It also offers children career exploration and internship in order to cultivate their skills of self-reliance.
Children have to face the future challenge on their own and Diversified Learning Project will help them to achieve the goal!

你要盡心、盡性、盡 意、盡力愛主 ─ 你的神。其次就是說:要愛人如己。(馬可福音12章30-31節)

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You will love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:30-31)
